Branched chain amino acids (BCAAs) are an important group of essential amino acids consisting of Leucine, Isoleucine and Valine. BCAAs are among the nine essential amino acids that our bodies cannot produce. Their only source is our daily food or food supplements. On the other hand, they make up 35% of the amino acids in muscle protein. Leucine, Isoleucine and Valine are essential amino acids that come from different protein sources. BCAAs can also be used as dietary supplements, especially during intense training or physical work.
